REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Reduce Animal ProductsWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our bodies, our planet, and other people?
Chris Samojedny 4/15/2020 12:00 PMThe cost of producing meat is a lot higher than other plant-based foods; therefore, the consumer price is higher and more accessible to rich countries that harbor citizens with more money. Meat poses a threat to our livelihood and our environment. Studies show that those who eat red meat are at a higher risk of dying from diabetes and heart disease. Additionally, livestock farming causes a lot of adverse environmental consequences. For example, livestock farming causes increased soil erosion; therefore, increased runoff and pollution of our waterways.
